E-safety and keeping Learners safe online is a key area of focus at Nightingale Community Academy.
The safeguarding team meet regularly and discuss issues regarding student safety including E-safety and we use a web filtering system to prevent Learners from accessing inappropriate content at school.
Our Learners are taught to develop critical thinking skills as well as about how to be safe in online spaces. On February’s Safer Internet day, we encourage Learners to engage in relevant focussed activities and learning.
We will be holding a workshop for parents on keeping their children safe online.
If you would like support with setting up some filters at home, which can help protect your children online, we would recommend having a look at the NSPCC, ThinkUKnow and Internet Matters websites – organisations dedicated to keeping children safe in the digital world.
You can also access support via our Online Safety Hub from where you can sign up to the digital filer QUSTODIO which enables parents to block inappropriate websites across your own devices and is free when you sign up at our school website.
