Year 6 and 7 Students Learn About Staying Safe in the Community
Year 6 and Year 7 students recently took part in an important and engaging workshop led by an external speaker from the Responding Together initiative. The session focused on helping young people understand how to stay safe within their communities, with particular emphasis on awareness and prevention in relation to youth violence.
The speaker delivered the session in a clear, age-appropriate manner, using real-life case studies to help students understand different situations they may encounter and how to respond safely and responsibly. These examples encouraged pupils to think critically about choices, risk, peer pressure, and where to seek support when faced with challenging circumstances.
The visiting speakers were particularly complimentary about the boys’ behaviour, highlighting their respectful attitude, strong listening skills, and the quality of the questions they asked. Their conduct reflected positively on the school and demonstrated a genuine commitment to learning about personal and community safety.
Sessions such as this play a vital role in our wider personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education programme. By working with trusted external organisations like Responding Together, we aim to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and strategies they need to make safe choices and look out for one another.
