Sports Day Fun 2025

Sports Day 2025 was a fabulously fun day with everyone enjoying the friendly competition on a sunshine drenched field.

Everyone had been assigned a team before the big day and turned up wearing their team colour, either red, green, white, black, grey or blue. It was lovely to see the sports day veterans helping their teammates and staff giving plenty of vociferous encouragement from the side lines.

Each team rotated around the activities and accumulated points for participation and success rate. So in the water race, there were points for every leg run as well as an overall score for who could transfer the most water from one bucket to the other with the least spillage, ensuring the need for speed and accuracy. Other games such as hurdling the hay bales and navigating the tyres were more tricky for little legs but taller team mates were able to keep the number of runs ticking over whilst making sure everyone had a go. Running with ball on the tennis racquet required a fine balance between speed and control as a dropped ball slowed down the overall run time. The hockey stick slalom challenged agility whilst everyone enjoyed trying to get a football past the goalies in the penalty shoot out.

The morning activities ended with the traditional tug of war contests before the competitors joined family members who had been spectating for lunch.

After the lunch break we headed over the road to Trinity Fields for the running races. These were a competitive as ever with pupils striving for the finishing line and it was good to see so many competitors. The day finished with the traditional parent and staff races and no doubt PBs will be debated in the staff room until this time next year!

Thank you to all the family members who came along and supported our budding sports stars and a huge well done to everyone for making it a fun event for the whole school. Medals were presented at the end of term celebration event. Well done to everyone for taking part so enthusiastically!
