Rugby Festival at The Stoop

Students from Nightingale Community Academy took part in a mixed ability rugby day at The Stoop pitch, home of the Harlequins rugby team. The event was designed to increase participation and make the game more inclusive and accessible. Students enjoyed a series of fun warm up sessions before being put through their paces in a series of matches in the afternoon. OHC&AT’S Digital School, long term supporters of the Harlequins Foundation  also supported the event setting up a Digital Hub in their Media Centre. Students popped in to try out the latest technology including Virtual Reality and Lego Education. Our Digital School is open every Friday at The Stoop for  local schools and community groups to book sessions. It was an exhilarating day for all involved and students did the Trust proud with their excellent sportsmanship and a series of wins between them.

The principal and leadership team, well supported by the Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust, have provided strong leadership, which has had a positive impact on the school’s effectiveness. As a result, there have been improvements in all areas, most noticeably in pupils’ behaviour and attitudes, the curriculum and in the wider opportunities for pupils.
