School is brighter and better following refurbishment
Pupils and staff were delighted to welcome the Estates and Facilities Team into school before half term for a special assembly where we thanked them for the all the school improvements. Whilst we enjoyed the summer holidays the facilities team was hard at work supervising contractors on a massive programme of work to improve the school environment. They did such a good job that when everyone returned in September, it felt like we were coming back to a new school!
Pupils said the school felt a lot brighter, cleaner and smelt nicer after walls were repainted, and floors replaced. They said it made them feel happier at school and able to concentrate on their work.
School improvements include:
- A new state of the art Design Technology room, with industrial equipment and facilities to create 3 dimensional multidisciplinary design
- A new art room with FF&E to provide space for learners to be inspired creatively
- A new floor in the Sports Hall with extra bounce for our young basketball team
- A new Gym with equipment for learners to workout physically
- Corridor floors and stairs have new vinyl, providing light and airy space
- A 6th-form learning space with adapted furniture, for flexible learning and a more adult approach.
A huge thank you to everyone involved, it has made our school a much nicer place to come to every day.
