Outstanding goalkeeping ensures draw in well-contested match

Our Key Stage 4 football team headed along Beechcroft Road to take on Ernest Bevin School in what turned out as an extremely close and well-contested encounter. Both teams created opportunities to win the game. However, some fantastic goalkeeping at both ends ensured that the match finished goalless – a very rare occurrence in school football!

Kayson, appointed team captain for the day, rose to the occasion with excellent leadership before the game, leading the pre-match warm-up and stretching routine.. He continued to lead by example throughout the match, demonstrating great sportsmanship at all times. His positive attitude and example had a fantastic influence on the rest of the team, who worked tirelessly against an organised and energetic opposition.

Harvey C was outstanding in goal, making a number of brilliant saves to keep us in the game. Other notable performances came from Kayson in his role as captain, Ayden in attack and Tyrone in defence.

We have been invited back after half term for rematches at both KS3 and KS4 levels, which is something to look forward to!
