Mechanics at work!

Our mechanics students have been hard at work in our on-site garage. The group has been learning about the different parts that make up an engine, how they work, how to spot problems, and how to repair them. Our studio is being put to great use with three cars in there ready for dissecting! Headteacher, Mr Bailey, spent some time with the group and the students were soon aware that they’re on to a prosperous future if they stick with mechanics – something the boys were very keen on, even offering to do some work (paid, of course!) on Mr Bailey’s car!

The principal and leadership team, well supported by the Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust, have provided strong leadership, which has had a positive impact on the school’s effectiveness. As a result, there have been improvements in all areas, most noticeably in pupils’ behaviour and attitudes, the curriculum and in the wider opportunities for pupils.
