New arrivals on the farm!
Since last summer Tom’s Farm has undergone a transformation due to the tireless efforts of Josh the Farm Manager. Josh has expanded and developed the farm, creating a safe, educational and calming environment in which students can spend time learning the skills that are necessary to keep the farm running.
It has been a busy term on the farm and we have recently welcomed piglets, goat kids, lambs and baby rabbits!
We have had two litters of piglets (a rare breed of Oxford Sandy and Blacks) who are now ready to leave for their new homes over the Easter Holiday. Two female piglets will be staying at the farm to enter pig shows and hopefully bring home some awards!
Two of the farm goats have now become mothers.Tammie had twin boys last week and Masie had a single boy. The last goat is due to give birth any day now!
It has also been lambing season for our Shetland Sheep. So far 6 lambs have been born and we are waiting on 6 more over the Easter period!
Finally, Molly the pony is due to give birth in May.
Pupils are having a wonderful time seeing the progress the baby animals are making, and are learning so many skills that they can take forward!
